A short live tape here and some Swedish cult black metal by Malign who unfortunately seem to be on hold currently. This live recording features both tracks from 1998's "Fireborn" EP and one from the demo and is probably incomplete. If a full recording exists, let me know and preferably share it as well.

UPDATE: I was confirmed that this is the full show; the band and especially Belfagor of Ofermod who was doing the drums for this gig got fed up with the pussy crowd after three songs. See more info in the comments, thanks Ashes And Bloodstench!

The recording itself starts with Fireborn, right from the beginning I think and sounds to me like an audience recording but has a good sound quality. All instruments are audible and sound good to my extremely demanding tastes. Material is obviously good but you'd do well to remember I'm quite the fanboy. Very much recommended and if you have more Malign live recordings for me I'll reward you with gold, spices and slaves.

@Vragh:

Thanks comrade, but I've already posted that one here on this blog.

Ah, yes. Didn't check before I posted, sorry about that.

Nevermind, I should've expressed myself more clearly. Anyways, appreciated the gesture!

No, it’s not incomplete as far as I can tell; my source is Mörk’s following statement from the second Hellish Massacre issue:

However, we did play a show in Uppsala in oct 99. For this we turned to the ingenious Belfagor of Ofermod who stepped in on drums with only three days notice and not one single rehearsal before the gig. He hadn´t even played drums for years ´til then. I handled guitar which was a bit odd for me but I think it went ok. […] We did three songs before getting fed up with the lame and non-violent reaction from the crowd. Belfagor didn´t quite manage to keep his aggressions towards Black Metal mongoloids back and there were some small incidents. However, I think this was blown out of proportions, next time it´ll be violent in the real sense of the word. Perhaps it´s understandable that some people (Mama´s boys and such) have a problem (Read fear) with Belfagor´s characteristics, but if people only possessed half his fanatiscism, insight, dedication, sense of sacrifice and everything else he stands for, this miserable scene would be a better place.

Belfagor did play drums on the first Ofermod release though, and that came in 1998.

There’s a video recording from that performance on the internet:

Unfortunately, that is incomplete.

@Ashes and Bloodstench:

That is very useful information, thank you for sharing it! Yes, it's a pity the video recording is incomplete, whether this is because the person recorded only part of it or uploaded only that we don't know.

You’re welcome. I have no account, but if you have (or someone you’re in contact with), you might ask the uploader (I once looked through his other stuff, and if I remember correctly it is a Hypocrisy member) if there is more of that stuff.

@Ashes:

Thanks for the tip, I'll need to do that later.

You’re welcome. When I see all the great stuff you upload, it’s good to know I can contribute at least a little bit of information. By the way, I found the Hellish Massacre issue on the internet: http://content.yudu.com/Library/A1szdp/HellishMassacre2/ and http://www.pageflip-flap.com/read?r=es5HGizCWqZEOr51Y (I haven’t compared them, so I don’t know if whether there is a version better than the other one).
As you are a Finn and I mentioned Belfagor, I wanted to know whether you could translate the Finnish part of the Rape the World (Hymn To לויתן) lyrics for me and maybe let the guy from this weblog know, since he posted about that song here; he’s wrong about the title, since it’s anomias not anomalias, as you probably know. As his Latin is better than mine, I wonder what he means by “almost perfect”; if it’s about sephirah, this is not wrong if you go by the Hebrew language. If I had an account, I’d ask the guy myself, but that way, you can still let him know about your weblog and maybe profit from his. He might also be interested in the Stormblast zine, at least the Latin parts from the Enthroned and Gotmoor interviews and their intertextual allusions.

@Ashes and Bloodstench:

Thank you for the links, haven't really had time to properly read the 'zine yet but I really like the way it looks and content should be interesting.

As for the Ofermod lyrics, I suppose I can try:
"Raiskaa maailma, ylin Jumala
Maailman kärsimyksen kabbala
mustin surma vaalein vapahdus
Viiruksen kuolema, kuninkaan pelastus"

"Rape the world, God supreme
The kabbalah of world's pain
blackest death palest redemption
The virus's death, a king's salvation"

I really dislike trying to translate lyrics, can't make it rhyme the way the other verses do but I suppose you get the gist of it.

Sure, I can leave that person your note, will do that next.
